To keep this bikes weight down to an absolute minimum, making it unbelievably maneuverable and easy to handle, while at the same time being incredibly strong, and easy to carry with you, especially up and down stairs, virtually the whole bike-the frame, forks, handlebars, seat post, stem, kick stand, hubs, head set, crank set chain and brakes are all made from a super lightweight aluminum alloy.

To enable you to quickly and easily pick up speed when riding on flat city streets, as well as taking the hard legwork out of climbing any hills you may encounter on your journey, and making the ups and downs of trail riding an absolute breeze, this folding bike comes with a genuine set of 8-speed Shimano gears, made up from a Shimano Altus 8-speed derailleur, an easy and comfortable to use Shimano Revo 8-speed grip shifter, and a set of Shimano11-32T 8-Speed cassette gears, which all work together really well to give you smooth and accurate shifting for ultimate terrain adaptability.

This bike also features front and rear 20″ aluminum double wall rims for added strength while keeping the wheels lightweight for superior maneuverability, durability, and acceleration, and the wheel size itself strikes the perfect balance between performance and the bikes folded size.

You will also get a pair of beefy Kenda ultra-light multi-terrain Kommuter 20 x 2.0″ tires, which are nice and sticky while still being pretty fast and give good service on city streets as well as off road tracks and trails, and although they are pretty fat the gears more than compensate when it comes to riding speed.

The pedals are made from high strength 9/16″ aluminum and plastic, and are pretty durable even though they may appear to be a little on the flimsy side at first. The pedals also fold to keep the Euromini Urbano’s folded footprint to a minimum at just H-27″ L-31″ W-12.5″ and make it possible for you to store it away in smaller spaces than you could with a bike with non-folding pedals.

There is also a magnetic catcher to keep the bike held securely together and prevent it from becoming damaged or disjointed when folded down.

Kickstand:

This bike comes with an aluminum alloy kickstand which allows you to conveniently and safely stand the bike upright in a stable position even when there is nothing around to lean it up against, this is a pretty handy thing to have if you happen to be out in the middle of nowhere and need to take a break from riding for a while.

V-Brakes:

Aluminum alloy v-brakes provide effective stopping power, even in emergencies and when riding at high speed, and have the added advantage of being really easy to repair and maintain even when you are on-the-go, (the kickstand mentioned above comes in very handy for this too), plus replacement parts like brake shoes and cables are really inexpensive and also widely available.

Reflectors:

For safety when riding at night, or in other low-lit conditions the Urbano has a rear reflector underneath the saddle at the top of the seat post, along with reflector bars on the pedals.

What Is The Urbano Like To Ride?

The short answer is that it’s pretty impressive.

This folding bike is really comfortable to ride. Everything about it is smooth, solid and stable, it’s really well balanced and rides every bit as good as far more expensive folding bike. It’s easily adjusted to fit different sized riders, picks up speed nicely on the flat, and glides along pretty quickly, just like a full sized bike. It also rides downhill at speed really well with no wobbles or shakes, and it climbs hills nicely too.

It also handles bumps and potholes pretty well making it just as good to ride on trails as it is on streets, and we found it to be sporty, very lightweight and very maneuverable too, although the seat can start to get a bit hard after riding 5-6 miles.

The Zizzo Urbano’s gearing is spot on, the bikes twist grip shifter is really comfortable and easy to use and the shifting is perfect, you could even say it’s fluid, that’s how smooth it is, giving this bike fantastic terrain adaptability. Hill climbing is almost effortless and on the flat the top gear is surprisingly fast.

The brakes are responsive and work really well to give jerk free stopping power right when you need it, including when traveling down hill at speed. The brake levers are easy to reach and operate, and controlling stopping distances is a breeze.

And once you reach your destination, folding the bike down and storing it away really couldn’t be any easier. The Zizzo Urbano is really quick and easy to fold down into a compact little bundle that is easily small enough to park in a corner without it being in the way, or in a closet, under a desk, pretty much anywhere you care to keep it.

This bike is also light enough to carry up and down stairs, on and off elevators, trains and buses, and even be stored away in the trunk of a car. The magnetic catcher works pretty well, however we have heard stories about them coming loose and even breaking off so bear that in mind, plus the frame latch can be a little tight but as far as we’re concerned this isn’t a bad thing as it makes the bike nice and solid to ride.

All-in-all we are pretty impressed with this folding bike and if light, fast and maneuverable is what you’re looking for we think you will be too.

Verdict-Should You Buy The EuroMini ZiZZO Urbano?

If you’re looking for a super lightweight folding bike to use for city commutes as well as trail riding the Euromini Zizzo Urbano should be right there at the top of your list, and we highly recommend checking this one out first.

Even thought this bike missed out on making it onto our top 10 folding bikes list, just by the seat of its pants we should add, it’s still a fantastic choice if you want the lightest folding bike you can get, and also one that folds down nice and small for easy storage.

As well as being super light, this bike is also super solid and sturdy, pretty fast in top gear and highly maneuverable. This bike is also one of the best folding bikes we have come across so far for tackling hills, and easily the best for carrying up and down stairs and being easy to sore.

The gearing is great, its smooth and comfortable to ride and the kickstand is a nice touch.

OK, so it doesn’t come with fenders or a carry rack, but considering everything you do get for your money with this one it’s hardly an issue and you can always add them later if you so choose.

So is it worth buying? We definitely think so, but don’t just take our word for it…

The Zizzo Via In More Detail…

One of the first things you will probably notice about the Zizzo Via is just how incredibly lightweight it is. It weighs in at just 27 lbs! This is because this folding bike is built almost entirely from aluminum alloy- the frame, handlebars, seat post, the stem fenders, hubs , brakes, virtually everything, which not only makes it amazingly light and maneuverable, but also incredibly strong and durable as well.

And being so lightweight also makes this bike super portable too, in fact it’s a breeze to carry once it’s folded down, so if you live or work on the 9th floor you’ll have no problems with this on the stairs or the elevator.

This bike also features a pretty impressive 7-speed Shimano gear shift system which includes a Shimano Revo 7-speed grip style shifter which is located on the right handlebar and is really easy to operate, along with a Shimano Tourney 7-speed rear derailleur which is attached to the frame via an impact absorbing aluminum hanger to protect it against any damage. Changing up and down through the gears is pretty smooth and solid and they tackle hills pretty easily too.

The 7-speed cassette is made from rust resistant, nickel plated stainless steel, giving it a really long lifespan and improved reliability, and features Shimanos ‘Hyperglide Technology’ for superior shifting.

The Zizzo Via also features a telescopic height adjustable handlebar allowing it to be lowered or raised to fit riders from 4 ft 8 ins tall through 6 ft 3 ins tall. In addition, the handlebar itself can be rotated to give you maximum hand position comfort while riding making it a great choice for long journeys.

This folding bicycle also comes with aluminum double wall rims for added strength, shock absorption and durability, plus added protection against damage to the inner tubes from the spokes. The Kenda tires, although a budget brand, give pretty decent grip on paved and unpaved surfaces and can also improve braking efficiency and have been shown to outperform other similarly priced bicycle tires.

Another feature we like, and which more folding bikes seem to have these days, is the magnetic catcher. This is a clever innovation which holds the folded bike together without the need for any straps, or even a carry bag, and stops it from unfolding as you carry it or store it away.

And finally, if you’re wondering just how much, or how little space you will actually need to store your Zizzo Via, the folded down dimensions are: Height-27″ x Length-31″ x Width-12.5″, so literally any spare space measuring just over these dimensions will do nicely. And if you were thinking of storing it on a shelf or somewhere similar, the Via weighs just 27 lbs, so anywhere which will support such a weight will be fine too.

Front And Rear Alloy V-Brakes:

The Zizzo Via also comes with front and rear aluminum alloy v-brakes which although extremely lightweight are easily strong enough to give it all the stopping power it needs, right when it needs it.

To keep away any dirt and debris from the road or trail away from your clothes as you ride the Via also features front and rear aluminum alloy fenders.

Folding Pedals:

Unlike some lesser quality folding bikes with flimsy steel stems, low quality welds, and unsafe screw type locks, the Via features a strong and rigid forged aluminum stem, high quality welds, lever locks which will not loosen as you ride and a safety lock which guarantees the stem will not fold as you ride.

Adjustable Seat Post/Tripod:

Another really cool feature which you will also find on the Zizzo Ferro and Campo models is the seat post which lowers all the way down when the bike is folded and forms a tripod with the two wheels allowing you to stand the bike up in an upright position without it toppling over.

Performance-What’s The Via Like To Ride?…

Sturdy and Lightweight, it’s got a good solid frame that locks together well, good quality hinges make it really easy to fold, unfold, carry up and down stairs and stow, fun to ride.

The seat can be a little hard at first, it’s more of a road bike seat than a leisure bike seat but once you get used to it, or change it, it’s pretty comfortable to ride, in fact it rides really well, it’s easy handle, corners well and performs pretty much just like a full size bike.

The fat tires give a pretty decent grip as well as pretty good cushioning against minor potholes and bumps on paved roads and unpaved trails.

The twist grip shifter is really smooth and easy to use, and the gears are responsive, they don’t clank and clunk and they tackle even steep hills easily.

The brakes are surprisingly effective for v-brakes, they give good stopping power and they are nice and smooth too.

In a nutshell, the Zizzo Via is comfortable, lightweight, nimble and easy to handle. Great for short trips. Good in wet weather so you can use it in the snow and rain. The kickstand does what it’s supposed to do and the fenders do a great job of keeping your clothes clean when riding in the wet.

Verdict- Should You Buy The Zizzo Via?…

If you are in the market for a premium quality lightweight folding bike for commuting, fitness riding, or just for leisure riding at an easily affordable price point we strongly recommend taking a good look at the Euromini Zizzo Via 27lb Folding Bike.

The Via is really well put together using top quality materials, it’s strong and sturdy while being incredibly lightweight, and it’s a great ride all round. It folds down quick and easy and small, and is light enough to carry on and off buses and trains, and up and on stairs and elevators, however if you would prefer something even lighter then check out our review of the Zizzo Urbano which weighs in at just 24 lbs!

The gears make riding uphill nice and easy, as well as helping you pedal up to a pretty decent speed pretty quickly on the flat, and the brakes are spot on.

The seat can take some getting used to, or you can swap it for one with more padding, or get a gel cover, but other than that this is a really comfortable bike to ride. The tires do a great job of absorbing any lumps and bumps in the road and the alloy wheels help here too.

Other than the seat being a little on the hard side at first, we really can’t fault this bike, it rides just like a standard mountain bike and really is worth taking a good look at, we currently have it at number 7 on our Top 10 Folding Bikes For 2020 list, plus it’s also pretty high on the Amazon.com best sellers list at the moment too.

At the time of writing this review the EuroMini ZiZZO Via 27lb Folding Bike has an average feedback score on Amazon of an impressive 4.4 out of 5 stars from 156 customer reviews. An equally impressive 72% of them are 5 star reviews, and a further 13% are 4 star reviews. All of which strongly suggests that the majority of the people buying this folding bike on Amazon.com, right now, are very happy with it.

Among the things which they find the most impressive are the weight of the bike, the smoothness of the gear changing and the strength of the clamps, plus just how easy it is to fold and unfold.

They also,liked the folding pedals and the magnetic catches that keep the bike securely folded when in transit plus the fact that it can be used just as enjoyably for commuting as it can for mountain biking.

There are also a number of people who have given this bike 3 stars or less and their main issues with this bike, and which you may wish to take into account are that the handlebar height adjustment slipped down while riding, and the seat post did the same-could be that they weren’t tightened up sufficiently, and there have also been problems with the pedals snapping off.

It’s only fair to point out that the problems just mentioned were only experienced by a very tiny minority of customers which is also worth remembering when making your buying decision.

The bottom line here is that a massive 85% of customers have nothing but praise for this bike and we have to agree it is a pretty impressive ride.

The first thing we would like to cover is the bikes lightweight folding aluminum frame. It weighs in at an incredible 28 lbs, making it a breeze to carry up and down stairs, on and off public transport, and indoors so you don’t need to leave it outside and unattended, and yet is capable of carrying riders weighing up to 240 lbs and who stand over 6ft tall!

It also folds down to a very compact H-27″ L-31″ W-12.5 for easy transportation and storage, and a really cool thing is that the seatpost lowers right down, just like on the Zizzo Via, and the Zizzo Ferro, and forms a tripod with the 2 wheels to keep the bike in a stable and upright position,allowing you to store it just about anywhere you like…

And folding the bike up and down is also really easy to do without very much effort at all on your part, and once you get the hang of it, which doesn’t take long at all, you can have the bike fully folded, up or down, in just 30 seconds or less!

Next up there is the 100% genuine Shimano gear shift system which features a 7-speed Shimano Tourney derailleur which makes riding on flat roads as easy as can be, and takes the hard legwork out of riding up hills. In addition, the derailleur is fixed to the bikes frame via an impact absorbing aluminum hanger which also helps protect the derailleur against any damage.

And for incredibly easy shifting-on-the-go there is a Shimano Revoshift grip shifter on the right handlebar which allows you to change up and down through the gears without having to take your hands off the handlebars, so you can concentrate on steering the bike at the same time.

This bike also features a 4-point folding system which allows you to fold it down to the smallest possible size for ultimate portability and storage. As well as folding in half along the frame, the Euromini Zizzo Campo also has an easy single folding aluminum alloy stem, and both the pedals also fold so there are no parts sticking out to get caught up on anything, or which could get damaged. And a big plus is the bikes magnetic catcher which locks the bikes folded frame securely together.

The tires on the Zizzo Campo are 2″ wide ‘multi-terrain’ inflatable tires. This means they are suitable for riding on city streets and other paved surfaces, as well as on light trails. What Is The Euromini Zizzo Campo Like To Ride?…

In our opinion this is probably one of the most comfortable to ride folding bicycles you are likely to find. The bikes 20″ alloy rims, along with its 2″ inflatable multi terrain tires give pretty decent cushioning against minor bumps and potholes in the road. The tires also give good traction and handle dirt, grass and pavements and roads like a champ.

The Euromini Zizzo Campo rides smoothly and quietly, and the 7-speed Shimano gears allow you to pick up speed pretty quickly on the flat and also ride up hills which aren’t too steep without feeling like you’re working hard at all. The gear shifting is incredibly smooth, and the brakes are spot on, bringing you to a safe and gentle stop whenever you need to.

The seat can take a little getting used to but once you have it’s surprising just how comfortable it becomes. The seat is also very easy to adjust to your required height and along with the handlebar adjustment, and the folding and unfolding latches, is extremely safe and secure.

The handlebar itself rotates backwards and forwards to give you the most comfortable hand and wrist position for riding and for gripping the brakes which is a big bonus if you enjoy going on long leisurely rides for the day.

The Campo is also Incredibly lightweight giving excellent handling and maneuverability, which is great for zipping in and out of traffic and saving time on commutes, and also making it really easy to carry.

Probably the first thing most people want to know is how easy is this bike to fold and unfold?

The good news is that it is incredibly easy to fold. You can fold the entire bike in half literally along the crossbar, and fold it back up again with hardly any effort at all. The latch which holds the bike in place is well made and secure and the whole folding and unfolding is nice and smooth. The handlebar stem also folds down making the entire bike compact enough to carry with you on public transport or stow away in the trunk of a car.

This folding bike also features a genuine 7-Speed Shimano Tourney Derailleur. The derailleur is fixed directly onto the bikes lightweight high-tensile steel frame and the 7-speed cassette and chain have a rust resistant coating to ensure easy and smooth riding on level ground as well as on hills, and shifting up and down through the gears while riding is smooth and accurate thanks to the bikes incredibly responsive G-Falcon 7-speed handlebar mounted grip shifter.

As mentioned above the Euromini Zizzo Ferro also comes with an adjustable high-tensile steel stem which also folds down very easily for storage and transportation, and the handlebar has the extra feature of being able to be rotated backwards or forwards to provide you with the most comfortable position for your hands and wrists as you ride.

You also get a set of front and rear V-brakes which are also made of high-tensile steel making them very lightweight while while still giving you the stopping power you need, when you need it, even when travelling at top speed. Braking is probably made even more efficient with the addition of multi-terrain tires which provide maximum grip on a variety of different surfaces.

And to make the Euromini Zizzo Ferro extremely convenient and easy to carry and store, it folds right down to just 27″ high x 31″ long x 12.5″ wide, and weighs just 29 lbs. And to keep the bike standing stable in an upright position when it is folded down, you can actually lower the seatpost right down so it acts as a tripod with the 2 wheels allowing you to stand it literally anywhere just like you can with the Zizzo Campo and Zizzo Via folding bikes.

Adjustable seat post: The height of the seat post can be adjusted to suit riders from 4 ft 8 ins all the way up to 6 ft 3 ins tall, giving them the most comfortable individual riding position. Once you set the seat to your ideal height it is held securely in place via an adjustable high-tensile steel collar, the same type of collar is also used to secure the handlebar post height and also the position of the handlebar brake levers.

Performance…

The Zizzo Euromini Ferro is pretty well built and folding and unfolding the bike is really quick and easy to do without needing anything like superhuman upper body strength.

This bike rides really well and can easily handle light trails, for example fire roads and double tracks, however for more rugged trail riding you would be better off with a folding mountain bike.

The Shimano gears do take some of the grunt work out of hill climbing, and allow you to get up some speed on the flat, however this bike is only ever going to move a fast as you are able to pedal it.

The brakes do exactly what they are supposed to, even when travelling downhill at speed

The handlebars are really easy to adjust and you can either set them low like on a road bike, or you can set them high like on a beach cruiser, whichever suits you best.

The bike feels pretty sturdy to ride, however some users have found the seat to be on the hard side and swapped it for something more comfortable.
